Multi-lingual Dictionary Meta-Search

This multilingual dictionary meta-search allows you to query over 30 different dictionaries with over 70 language combinations. Select your source language and then your target language. You can then select a dictionary (or multiple dictionaries by holding down Ctrl while clicking) and enter your search term.

Why is my favourite dictionary not included here?

This multilingual dictionary meta-search is still very much a work in progress. I am adding new dictionaries to it every week as we speak. Therefore, if your favourite dictionary isn't included here, it could be because:

a) I haven't gotten around to adding it yet.

b) I don't know about it.

c) The dictionary uses POST instead of GET to submit the search term (e.g. Eurodicautum). You can see that a dictionary uses the POST procedure if the search term doesn't appear in the URL of the search result page. I am working on implementing the capability of submitting search terms to these dictionaries with the POST function. It's quite work-intensive though because I have to write my own sub-routine for each dictionary, so I'm concentrating on dictionaries that use the GET procedure for now.

d) The owners of the dictionary have asked me not to include it. I will always respect those wishes.

e) I found it useless and decided against it.

Why doesn't the dictionary work for me?

Most likely, you have JavaScript disabled in your browser (or have a very, very outdated browser). Enable JavaScript and reload this page.

Where can I get this dictionary for my own Web site?

I am making this dictionary available for free to anyone. The script is hosted on my server, so if you like, contact me here and I'll send you a few lines of code to paste into your Web site. The script will be called from my server, so whenever I update it with new dictionaries, it will automatically be updated on your site as well.

This is a great way of getting repeat visitors to your Web site.
